DESCRIPTION OF AURICULAR POINTS AND THEIR ACTIONS
according to Dr Paul Nogier
(1) Eye point
Is located in the centre of a round arch formed by the lower curve of the lobule , often on the transversal and oblique fold descending from the front towards the back of the lobule.
Principal action : Eyes.
Secondary actions : Vagosympathetic equilibrium , sleep , tonus.
(2) Olfactive point
Is located in the anterior part of the lobule , approximately 1 mm behind the auricle insertion line on the side , half - way up the lobule.
Principal actions : Nose and affectivity.
Secondary actions :Liver and allergy.
(3) Maxillary point
Is located slightly behind the antitragus , in the centre of an inverted "Y" of which the median branch represents the post - antitragal groove , lower end of the scaphoid groove.
Principal action : Teeth.
Secondary actions : Upper limb , bladder , libido and extremities.
(4) Lung point
The inferior hemi - concha forms a cupule delimited above by the helix - root , at the bottom external auditory meatus. In the middle , in the most concave part , is located the lung point.
Principal action : Respiratory system.
Secondary action : Nervous control.
(5) Auditory point
The tragus ends at the posterior part by a ridge which separates the external face from the internal face. Precisely on the edge and in the centre of the curve is located the auditory point.
Principal action : Auditory nerve.
Secondary actions : Affectivity , cellular metabolism.
(6) Stomach point
Is located in the centre of the concha , on the frontier separating the lower hemi - concha from the upper hemi - concha. It is exactly on the helix - root , at equal distance from point zero (point 21) and the anthelix edge.
Principal action : Stomach.
Secondary actions : Abdominal viscera , emotiveness.
(7) Throat point
Is located in the angle formed by the tragus and the rising branch of the helix. The point is hidden in the superior subtragal region. We locate it with the help of a stylet directed upwards and towards the front. Its position is slightly anterior to point zero (point 21)
Principal action : Throat.
Secondary actions : Genital organs , energy , affectivity.
(8) Gonads point
Is hidden under the rising branch of the helix , at the junction of the inferior tierce point and the middle tierce point of a line extending from point 0 (point 21) to the anterior top of the superior hemi - concha.
Principal action : Genital organs.
Secondary actions : Tonus condition and affectivity.
(9) Pancreas - Spleen point
Is located at the centre of the posterior third of the upper hemi - concha. It does not touch the anthelix or helix.
Principal actions : Exocrine pancreas , spleen.
Secondary actions : Vagosympathetic equilibrium , affectivity.
(10) Heart point
Is located slightly behind the forth vertebra.
Principal action : Heart.
Secondary action : Pneumogastric.
(11) Billiary point
Is located on the upper hemi - concha , slightly in front of its middle part. It is situated at an equal distance from the anthelix edge and the helix - root.
Principal actions : Liver , gallbladder.
Secondary action : Psychic condition.
(12) Rectal point
Is located in the upper and anterior part of the upper hemi - concha , exactly at the angle formed by the inferior root of the anthelix and the rising branch of the helix. We locate it when it needs stimulation because it is very tender.
Principal action : Haemorrhoidal veins.
Secondary actions : Throat , intestine , bladder , psychism.
(13) Sciatic point
Is situated on the anthelix edge , in its lower root , that is on the upper part of the auricle , where it crosses with the rising branch of the helix. Is slightly behind the rising branch of the helix.
Principal actions : Sciatic nerve , lumbar region.
Secondary action : Eyes.
(14) Knee point
Is located in the centre of the triangular fossa.
Principal action : Knee.
Secondary actions : Tonus , hearing.
(15) Kidney point
It is situated on the triangular fossa axis , under the rim edge. This localization is linear and extents in front , under the helix - knee , and in the back , up to the Darwin point , under the auricle rim.
Principal action : Kidney.
Secondary actions : Vagosympathetic system , psychism , metabolism.
(16) Trigeminus master point
The localization is linear , on the lobule border. The principal point is on the line joining points 21 and 27. The point is delimited above by the radius 21 - 28 and at the bottom by the radius 21 - 29.
Actions : Nervous system , mesoderm , behavior.
(17) Aggressivity master point
It is located in the upper third of the lobule and is inscribed in a depression located at 3 or 4 mm of the lobule anterior insertion on the face.
Actions : Behavior , tonus , genital organs , "pony tail" nerves.
(18) Tragus master point
Is located at 2,5 cm in the front of the tragal edge , on a horizontal line across the middle part of the tragus.
Actions : Tonus and control , external genital organs.
(19) Skin master point
Is located under the tragus , approximately 0,5 cm from its posterior edge. It is situated half way between the roof and floor of the external auditory meatus.
Actions : Skin , reticular system , vagosympathetic equilibrium , behavior.
(20) Shoulder master point
Is located on the posterior side of the anthelix , slightly above the antitragus , approximately 3 mm above the groove which separates the anthelix and antitragus. It is situated above and a little behind point No 3.
Action : Shoulder
(21) Master point zero
Is located at the level where the helix root becomes rising branch , precisely where the helix relief rises outside the concha. Situated in the middle of this protrusion , above and behind point 7. It is easy to spot because of a cartilaginous incisure which gives a projection when we explore the region with a transversal ridge of the nail.
Action : The auricle
(22) Inferior member master point
Is situated a little above and about 1 mm from point Zero (21) , on the rising branch axis of the helix.
Action : Controls exclusively the sensitivity and motor faculty of the lower limb.
(23) Superior member master point
Is located 2 mm above and in front of point 22. Always at an equal distance from the two edges of the helix rising branch. It is almost vertical to the intersection of the anthelix and the superior edge of the rising branch.
Action : Controls the sensitive part of the upper limb but not its motor ability.
(24) Allergy master point
Is found at the top of the auricle , almost at the intersection of its internal surface and its external surface.
Actions : Allergy , cellular metabolism , affectivity.
(25) Darwin master point
At the intersection point of the body and helix - root , point 25 is situated at Darwin' s tubercle , often hard to spot but detectable thanks to a cartilaginous indentation. At this level , the helix border is often thicker. The point is found inside the posterior part of the rim.
Action : Sensitive , affecting the mesoderm and ectoderm.
(26) Synthesis master point
Is located in the posterior region of the auricle , at the bottom of the retro - auricular part. In a cartilaginous and osseous plexus , between the concha and the osseous wall , exists a cleavage plane.
Actions : General , sensitive and motory. Does not however affect the frontal or rhino - encephalic regions. Affects psychic reactions.
(27) Cerebral master point
The antitragus represents a pyramid with its upper face or base A , B , C , D , E , being external and the peak "F" plunging into the concha. Point 27 is linear. It is located on the upper line B - F which forms thereby an edge more or less pronounced. This cerebral master point is detectable on the whole line B - F. It is generally tender.
Actions : Character , psychism , thalamus.
(28) Occipital master point
In its postero - superior part , the antitragus narrows to join the anthelix extremity. It is at this level , but on the antitragus , that we detect the occipital point. This point must be searched thoroughly. If it needs treatment it become very painful.
Action : Sensory and motory troubles of the mesoderm.
(29) Genital master point
Is located at the anterior extremity of the antitragus and on its external surface. The anthelix end resembles the body of a snake whose head could be the antitragus. In this representation , point 29 would be the snake' s eye. Actually , there are two points , almost touching and detection is not very easy because the detector's tip slips on this narrow region if one is not careful.
Actions : External genital organs , tonus , eye.
(30) Medullar master point
Is found on the helix - root , on its posterior ridge. It is located at the end of a radius starting from point 21 and crossing point 20.
Action : Peripheral nervous system.
